Feature requests

Missing a format or a tool? Tell us what you were trying to do rather than which tool you think you need; the first version of several tools here came from someone describing the job. Requests that a browser can actually do get built first, and the ones that need a server, like downloading from a video platform, do not get built at all.

Things worth checking first

A few questions come up often enough to answer here. The tool never finished: very large videos can exhaust a phone's memory, so try a shorter clip or a desktop browser. The result was rejected by a website: check the size and dimension limits on their side, since a valid file can still be too big. A file will not open after converting: tell us which program refused it, because the fix is usually a different container rather than a different tool. What we cannot help with

We cannot recover a file you no longer have. Nothing you convert is uploaded or stored, so there is no copy on our side to send you, which is the whole point of the site but does mean the original is the only original. We also cannot help you download from streaming or social platforms: browsers are not allowed to fetch from them, and their terms forbid it.

Privacy and legal

Questions about data, advertising consent, or the licenses behind the tools go to the same address. The details are written up in the privacy policy and the terms of use, and the open-source components are listed at the bottom of the terms.

One person reads this mailbox, so a reply takes a day or two. Messages that are plainly automated or trying to sell search engine optimization services are deleted unread.
