Enchantments

1.20.5 and newer (item components)

1.13 to 1.20.4 (NBT)

About this tool

Minecraft commands are powerful and fiddly: one misplaced bracket and nothing happens. This generator writes them for you. Give any item with a colored custom name, lore lines, enchantments (any level, including above the vanilla maximum), unbreakable, and a glint; summon any mob with a visible name, invulnerability, no AI, silence, glowing, and no despawning; and send colored chat messages, titles, subtitles, and action bar text.

Java 1.20.5 replaced item NBT with components, so the give command comes in both forms. Summon and text commands use the JSON text syntax that works from 1.13 onward. Type an item or entity id, or pick from the list; custom namespaced ids from mods and datapacks work too.

How to use it

  1. Pick the command type: give an item, summon a mob, or show text.
  2. Fill in the fields; the command updates as you type, in the syntax for your version.
  3. Copy it and paste into chat (with a leading slash) or a command block.

Questions

Which version do I copy?

Java 1.20.5, 1.20.6, and all 1.21 versions use the components command; 1.13 to 1.20.4 use the NBT command. Bedrock Edition has different syntax and is not covered.

Can I set an enchantment above the maximum?

Yes. Levels up to 255 are accepted by commands, so Sharpness 100 works, though some effects cap in practice.

Why is my summoned mob not showing its name?

Tick "Name always visible", and give the name a color or text. Names show over the mob only when that flag is set; otherwise they appear when you look at it.
