About this tool
A Minecraft server icon must be a PNG of exactly 64 × 64 pixels named server-icon.png in the root of the server directory; anything else is ignored and players see the default grass block. This tool resizes any image to that size, keeps transparency, and names the file correctly, so the only step left is copying it next to server.properties and restarting.
Crisp scaling keeps pixel art blocky; smooth scaling suits logos and photos. Works for vanilla, Paper, Spigot, Fabric, and Forge servers, and for Bedrock servers the same 64 × 64 PNG is used in the server list.
How to use it
- Drop any image (a logo, a screenshot, pixel art).
- Choose fill to crop it square or fit to pad it, and crisp scaling for pixel art.
- Download server-icon.png and put it in the server folder next to server.properties, then restart the server.
Frequently asked questions
Where does server-icon.png go?
In the same folder as server.properties and the world folder. Restart the server (or reload the server list) and the icon appears in the multiplayer menu.
Can it be animated or larger?
No. Java Edition only reads a static 64 × 64 PNG; larger or animated files are rejected.
Is this really free?
Yes. The site is supported by ads, and there are no limits on how many files you convert.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The converter runs entirely in your browser. Files stay on your device, which also makes it faster than upload-based converters for anything larger than a few megabytes.
Is there a file size limit?
The only limit is your device's memory. Images and audio of any normal size are fine; for video, files under about 500 MB work well on most laptops and phones.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. Very old browsers without WebAssembly support will not work.
