About this tool
Type or paste anything and get a QR code instantly: a website address, plain text, a phone number, an email, or Wi-Fi details in the standard WIFI:T:WPA;S:network;P:password;; form. The code is drawn in your browser and downloaded as a crisp PNG, or as an SVG that scales to any size for posters and packaging.
Most online QR generators pass every link through their server, log it, and some even redirect scans through their own domain so they can charge you later. This one encodes directly, so the code contains exactly what you typed and keeps working forever, with no account and no expiry.
Everything happens inside your browser. Your file is never uploaded to a server: the conversion runs on your own device using WebAssembly, and the result is downloaded straight from memory. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
How to use it
- Type or paste your text in the box above. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Adjust the options if you want; the defaults suit most files.
- Click the button and wait a moment.
- Download the result.
Frequently asked questions
Does the QR code expire?
No. It encodes your text directly rather than a redirect link, so it works as long as the destination exists.
Which error correction level should I use?
Medium for normal use. Choose Highest if you plan to print the code small, put a logo over the middle, or expect it to get scuffed.
How much text fits in a QR code?
Up to a few thousand characters, but codes get dense and hard to scan past a few hundred. Keep links short.
Is this really free?
Yes. The site is supported by ads, and there are no limits on how many files you convert.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The converter runs entirely in your browser. Files stay on your device, which also makes it faster than upload-based converters for anything larger than a few megabytes.
Is there a file size limit?
The only limit is your device's memory. Images and audio of any normal size are fine; for video, files under about 500 MB work well on most laptops and phones.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. Very old browsers without WebAssembly support will not work.
