Got a QR code in a screenshot, a saved photo, or an email attachment and no second phone to point at it? Drop the image here and the code is decoded on your device: the text is shown for copying and, if it is a link, offered as a button to open.
The reader tries several scales and both normal and inverted colors, so it copes with tiny screenshots, oversized photos, and white-on-black codes. Photos of codes work best when the code is reasonably flat and well lit.
Everything happens inside your browser. Your file is never uploaded to a server: the conversion runs on your own device using WebAssembly, and the result is downloaded straight from memory. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.

Frequently asked questions
Can it scan with my camera?
Not yet; this tool reads codes from images. Take a screenshot or a photo and drop it in.
Why was no code found?
The code may be too small, blurry, or at a steep angle. Crop the image closer to the code, or use a sharper picture.
Is it safe to open the decoded link?
The link is shown in full before you open it. Treat QR codes from unknown sources the way you would any unknown link.
Is this really free?
Yes. The site is supported by ads, and there are no limits on how many files you convert.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The converter runs entirely in your browser. Files stay on your device, which also makes it faster than upload-based converters for anything larger than a few megabytes.
Is there a file size limit?
The only limit is your device's memory. Images and audio of any normal size are fine; for video, files under about 500 MB work well on most laptops and phones.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. Very old browsers without WebAssembly support will not work.
